False Worship

You can not worship God with “gladness” and sing joyfully if in fact, there is no gratitude or joy in your heart. Many times during Sunday morning service, we are simply going through the motions of "worship". Most likely because we have allowed our circumstances and predicaments to dictate our emotions and regulate our actions. How many times have you flat out just not wanted to lift your hands during a worship service? Your mind was filled with worry about the bills or your marriage/relationship or maybe you got a report of illness for yourself or a loved one. Whichever the case, God doesn’t want you to worship Him when your heart is in that state. Am I telling you not to worship God? No, of course not. I am however stating how important it is to acknowledge the posture of your heart before you begin to worship. God sees and knows all, we can not fool him with “false” worship. Instead ask God to remove the issues that may be blocking you from seeing His hand moving in your life and find gratitude and joy in knowing He will answer your prayer!

Let us pray…
Father God,
Help me to cast all my cares on you. Lord help me to trust that you are aware of my every need and desire. Help me to come before you with reverence for your sovereignty and a song exaltation in my heart, despite how my life may look. Lead me into a deeper understanding of your love toward me and use that belief as a springboard for my worship.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
