The Spirit of Perseverance

The old cliché “hang in there” is “old”, it does not give you the assurance that you can stand, that you can overcome, or that you can endure. They are just simply words stated with no action. Perseverance, however, is so much more than endurance and hanging in there. God word gives us absolute assurance and certainty that we can endure anything, no matter the temptations we face, the setbacks or the storms that rise up in our lives. All we must do is trust and believe in Him and be patient and wait for His words to do the work. We must maintain the spirit of perseverance. We must understand that God will/can never be defeated but all of our circumstances can. When we face issues and circumstance that seem to follow us at every turn, keep knowing and believing that God is perfecting us, and that He knows the plans for our lives. The spirit of perseverance is strength in knowing that we may get tired of facing our giants, but God gives us three smooth stones of faith that can be easily thrown at the enemy. Like David, we must have the patience and wait for the right moment to throw our stones of faith in the enemy’s direction. Persevere today. Just wait…and watch your Goliaths fall.

Today's Prayer

El - Shaddai ~God Almighty, thank you for your assurance that I am an overcomer. That I can stand in the face of adversity. That there are no Goliaths in my life that cannot be defeated. Today I thank you Father God for the spirit of perseverance and strength. And thank you for the smooth stones of faith that will defeat the enemy. Allow me to continue to trust you and wait patiently for your deliverance. To wait patiently in your will, for you know the plans you have for me. May I have the spirit of perseverance to stand on faith and not merely “hang in there’, but to be still and know that you are God, and that I can accomplish all things through you, because there is no failure in you. I decree and declare that today I will have the spirit of perseverance.

Amen
