Keep a Merry Heart

Some days are better than others and then some days we face issues, people, circumstances and experiences that push us to produce bad attitudes and reactions to the things we encounter.

We allow these things, instead of the Holy Spirit, to rule us or hold us captive. But if we trust God we can choose how we react. If we bask in the joy of the Lord with a merry heart we can endure and overcome the negativity that interactions and situations can cause.

How you may ask, we start by praising God for His many blessings, His grace, and mercy no matter what. We must activate our faith and joy, by turning our attention to God’s goodness. Make an effort to recall God’s blessings and His plan and purpose for our lives. Will you keep your heart Merry today?

Today's Prayer

Dear Father God, I am so thankful to be called a child of God. Forgive me when I fall into the devil's trap of complaining or worrying. When I react to negative things and circumstances Lord, help me to cast my cares upon You, for I know that You care for me. Help me also to not allow disruptive attitudes and issues to get me down, but rather, may I be reminded that I serve a mighty God Who is greater than my circumstances. Who is mightier than any enemy.

I do praise You, Lord. I give you Glory, and I am grateful. Give me a merry heart Lord. Fill me with joy, peace, and love daily so that I may do service for you; that others will see your reflection and likewise have a merry heart. I ask this in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amen.
