Acquiring the Deborah Syndrome

Often times we, as women ministers, are not given the platform that our male counterparts are given. We can speculate that it is because we are seen as the weaker vessel, but fundamentally we know that we are bombarded with the misinterpreted scriptures that say we should be quiet. However, in every essence of who we are called to be in ministry, we must acquire the “Deborah Syndrome”.
Deborah used all of the gifts and talents that God adorned her with. She did more than prophesy. She woke up a sleeping nation from its weakness and despair. Fearless in her unmovable devotion to freeing God’s people, she inspired them to grab hold of that same determination, to free themselves from staying chained in bondage and degradation.
The people were excited to hear words spoken with a divine wisdom and love. We, too, must continue to stand in the purpose and position that God has placed in our lives and allow God to use us to restore and bring others back to him. Remaining, we must continue to use the power he has given us to correct and to propel other
women into their destinations and journeys.
What does that mean to us?
Acquiring the “Deborah Syndrome” means we must embrace our journey. We must proudly wear the mantle that God has placed upon our shoulders. We do this by walking boldly into our calling, faithfully relying on God, and we must use what He gifted us with, talents and great faith.
Just as Deborah lived in a period where spirituality was at a low point and the behavior of the people was diabolical and disruptive, not to mention that the nation was oppressed by political and state rulers, we too, as believers, live in such a period.
People have failed to honor God, they have failed to separate themselves from evil associations, and have lost sight of how to obey God’s rulings for their lives. But as women in ministry, we must fill the gap as Deborah did by telling the truth and confronting wrong teachings and interpretations of God's word. We must take the necessary actions to help others.
Stand strong sisters and never give up on your God-given purpose. No matter how frustrating it becomes or how many times we may be rejected, acquire the symptoms of steadfastness, of knowledge and of power and authority, along with the ability to know that, as God used Deborah to bring the erring nation back to the right way, so shall He use you to deliver and heal, to impart, to teach, to minister, and to pour into other women! Let your leadership abilities arise and help a royal nation restore their loyalty to God.
How to Acquire the Deborah Syndrome
stand in your ministry and let strength and courage be founded upon
God's power
follow God's commands in your journey
properly use your tongue to speak over yourself
speak God's commands to those who need encouragement
use your experience to help others free themselves from oppression and use your influence
live your life in such a way that you earn respect from everyone
demonstrate a wonderful and Godly attitude
In summation, I always say, “God will prove you before he promotes you.” He has proven you by calling you his, by anointing you, and by placing the ministerial mantle upon your shoulders. Don’t let the enemy break into the vault and steal your purpose and your destiny. Embody the “Deborah Syndrome” principles, suit up, and wear it well.
